Kangding Ray is David Letellier

David Letellier is mostly known under the pseudonym Kangding Ray, via which he has released music on raster-noton, the German label for minimal electronics. He has performed in venues such as a.o. Centre Georges Pompidou (Paris, France), Ancienne Belgique (Brussels, Belgium), Volksbühne ( Berlin, Germany ) and Elektra (Montreal, Canada). Trained as an architect, he worked among others for Jean Nouvel on the future Paris Philharmonic Hall. Prior to this, he worked on exhibition scenographies in the studio of German artist Carsten Nicolai for shows held at Schirn Kunsthalle (Frankfurt, DE), Pace Wildenstein (New York, USA), SMAK (Ghent, BE). Neue Nationalgalerie (Berlin, Germany) and the Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media (Yamaguchi, Japan ). His work has a strong focus on the perception of space, on the edge of architecture, sound and art.
